Hi, I'm Michael. I am an engineer with a passion for personal finance. Finances can be difficult to understand, especially when life gets complicated. Jobs, family, education, savings, loans—there is a lot to juggle. With a full time job and family, I knew I needed to have my budget in order. Instead of buying unnecessary software and subscriptions, I built my own personal budget spreadsheet in Excel with skills I already had. That's why I created thepennytracker, to offer that spreadsheet and others, along with helpful blog posts, tips and tutorials, free to help get your finances where you want them.
